Worth being clear about where the heat comes from. The battery is bolted beside the engine, and the engine is the source. That much is obvious while the vehicle is running. Less obvious is that the bay stays warm long after the key comes out, so the pack’s hot hours are not the driving hours. A vehicle that covers little distance in a hot country still parks a battery in a warm bay for most of the day, and a lead-acid or AGM battery in that position can lose a large chunk of its expected life to heat alone.
